What is Torque Release Technique?

It is common for people to assume that when you visit the chiropractor’s office that the doctor will be twisting, popping, and cracking the spine.  Fortunately, that is not the case with all chiropractic offices.  In our office, Dr. Joe Smola utilizes a technique called Torque Release Technique, also known as TRT, where there is no twisting, popping, or cracking of the spine.  Many people have not heard of this technique as there are only so many within the state of Michigan that utilize this technique which is why we are here to explain how the technique works.

With every adjustment that is administered in our office the doctor checks the spine for areas in which the nervous system is being interrupted by subluxation.  Subluxation is when one or more of your spinal bones is out of alignment.  Once the doctor has located subluxation within the spine they will deliver a very gentle and specific chiropractic adjustment utilizing an instrument called The Integrator.  When being adjusted by the integrator you will hear a click and feel a slight impulse to the muscles surrounding the spine.  This specific and gentle adjustment is like being adjusted by hand however it allows the doctor to be more specific and does not utilize a great amount of force.

Dr. Joe has been utilizing Torque Release Technique for the past 2 ½ years.  He has received fantastic results with the technique as well as had great feedback from practice members!  Several of our practice members have stated that the difference between being adjusted by hand and by TRT is that TRT has a lasting effect whereas adjusting by hand feels only temporary.
